Does anyone know what the heck is wrong with the water in Kuwait? And if so, how to remedy it? I am so sick of the water killing the colors in our laundry. All of the colors fade and the cotton pills (makes small balls). I don't think it is the detergent because we have tried all of the different kinds and nothing helps. I am assuming that either there is too much chlorine or the water is too hard...I don't know...anyone?

sorry to tell u its the soap u r using and when u wash turn ur clothes inside out!!!!!!!! it will prevent the "little balls"
Try using less soap; try using cooler water.
All my bras turned blue/grey! Horrors! I was told it was the water. I was also told to use hot water on all bedding and underwear to prevent critters and fungus.

Hey Jewaira, We have been trying cooler water and less and less soap, but soon, we won't be using any at all. :)

Sorry- NO remedy exists ( I can tell you that after 20 years here)- however, many kuwaitis here handwash, or use the old twin tubs, maybe that is the way to go.

I've tried everything. Nothing seems to work. The bigger, better quality washing machines are better, but even then, the color is still a problem. I also use color safe bleach and liquid detergent.
I don't even let my dog drink the water here.

Yeah, we are still trying new soaps and such. We do have a bigger American machine. I guess it is just the water...not much you can do about it, except get rid of the guilt from drinking bottled water. :)
